    Dirt Van Overland Parts List for Your DIY Van Build

    Simple, strong, practical and easy to source — that’s what we wanted from our van build hardware. After building and using these cupboards ourselves, we know these parts work.

    This parts list helps keep the cost of your DIY build down by taking out the middleman where we can. Rather than purchasing specialised components through a van conversion supplier, we’ve selected readily available hardware that you can source yourself at competitive prices.

    For parts available from Bunnings Warehouse, you can simply pick them up in-store or order online. This means you can build your cupboards using the same tried-and-tested components we use, without paying extra for covertly unique van conversion hardware.

    The parts below are the hardware we use and recommend for our cupboard and cabinet designs — practical, easy to source and easy to install.

    Some parts are used across both the overhead cupboards and under-bench cabinets, while others are specific to each setup. We’ve separated the lists below into online parts and Bunnings parts, so you can work through the list and order what you need for your build.

    Find Your Overhead Cupboard Parts

    Purchase Online:

    • Latches — Compression Lock Small Black Non-Locking (1 per cupboard)
    • Hinges — Tradco Hinge Fixed Pin H25 × W22 mm - 3 per cupboard (2 only req'd for 500mm long Cupboards) We highly recommend fitting your Hinges & Flat Bar Doorstops prior to removing door tabs, this keeps doors evenly positioned & aligned for hinge & flat bar doorstop installation before removal of tabs with a small file.
    • DVO End Caps — DVO V2 Overhead Cupboard End Caps (1 left & 1 right per cupboard)
    • DVO Logo Plate (optional) — Dirt Van Overland Logo Plate (we recommend 1 per van if upholstering the outside of your overhead cupboards & we love that raw finish look so drop it somewhere everyone will see it)

    Purchase at Bunnings Warehouse:

    • Flat Bar Doorstops — Aluminium Flat Bar - 20mm × 1.6mm × 1m, Part No 9311059053314, Black in color, 2 x lengths per 1550mm long cupboard or 1 length per 500mm, 980mm, 1200mm long cupboards - Cut Flat Bar in half & round ends prior to fixing to cupboard, position allowing clearance either side of latch using supplied holes & 3.2mm rivets or high strength automotive adhesive to fix Flat Bar Doorstops. Note: position Flat Bar Doorstops so cupboard door will strike doorstops & only be openable in the outward direction, then adjust latch to suit.
    • Aluminium Rivets — 3.2mm Dia. / 0.8–4.8mm Grip, 4 per hinge, plus quantity required to suit Doorstop holes on your selected cupboard &/or End Cap fixings, available in 25, 50, 100 & 500 QTY packs (typ.)
    • Drill Bits — Drill Bit 3.2mm Dia.

    Find Your Under Bench Cabinet Parts

    Purchase Online:

    • Latches — Compression Lock Small Black Non-Locking (1 per door & 1 per drawer)
    • Hinges — Tradco Hinge Fixed Pin H25 × W22 mm - 2 per small doors (3 req'd for long vertical Cupboard doors, please check your configuration prior) We highly recommend fitting your Hinges & Flat Bar Doorstops prior to removing door tabs, this keeps doors evenly positioned & aligned for hinge & flat bar doorstop installation before removal of tabs with a small file. This practice should be applied to drawer face plates when fixing drawer runner supports, drawer runners & drawers also.
    • DVO Logo Plate (optional) — Dirt Van Overland Logo Plate (we recommend 1 per van if painting or powder coating the outside of your under-bench cabinets & we love that raw finish look so drop it somewhere everyone will see it)

    Purchase at Bunnings Warehouse:

    • Drawer Runners — Goliath Drawer Runners, select the length to suit your cabinet, 2 per drawer. level, drill & rivet to drawer runner supports / RHS
    • Drawer Runner Supports / Aluminium RHS (Rectangle Hollow Section) — 2 per drawer, 40mm × 20mm × 3mm RHS, typically sold in 1m lengths, cut to suit & fix to your cabinet ends
    • Flat Bar Doorstops — Aluminium Flat Bar - 20mm × 1.6mm × 1m, Part No 9311059053314, Black in color, 1 x 1m length per door or less for smaller doors - Cut Flat Bar in half or quatres to suit doors & round ends prior to fixing to cupboard, position allowing clearance either side of latch using supplied holes & 3.2mm rivets or high strength automotive adhesive to fix Flat Bar Doorstops. Note: position Flat Bar Doorstops so cupboard door will strike doorstops & only be openable in the outward direction, then adjust latch to suit.
    • Aluminium Rivets — 4.8mm Dia. / 1.6–6.4mm Grip, quantity to suit your cabinet, refer to pre-drilled holes & number of cabinets purchased, available in 25, 50 or 100 QTY packs (typ.)
    • Aluminium Rivets — 3.2mm Dia. / 0.8–4.8mm Grip, 4 per hinge, plus quantity required to suit Doorstop holes on your selected cupboard, available in 25, 50, 100 & 500 QTY packs (typ.)
    • Drill Bits — Drill Bit 3.2mm Dia. & 4.8mm Dia.
